Game Sawit :

"Plant, Nurture, Harvest Explore the World of Palm Oil!"

Experience smart and engaging gameplay that blends agriculture, business strategy, and environmental awareness

The History of Game Sawit

Game Sawit was first conceptualized in 2021 by Stella Sabrina, a doctoral student in the Agricultural and Rural Development Communication program at IPB University. Prior to entering academia, Stella had over 15 years of experience in the media industry, with an educational background in Communication Studies. Her interest in agricultural issues, particularly palm oil, grew along with her academic journey and field observations.

Noticing the low interest among younger generations in agricultural issues and sustainable palm oil, Stella initiated the idea of creating an innovative educational medium: Game Sawit. This game is specifically designed for millennials and Gen Z as a fun and interactive learning tool about the sustainable palm oil process.

The content of Game Sawit was developed based on direct field observations, interviews with farmers and industry players, as well as a review of literature on best practices in sustainable palm oil management. The game illustrates various stages of the palm oil value chain—from nursery, planting, maintenance, harvesting, to processing and marketing—using an approach that emphasizes environmental, social, and economic aspects.

In the development process, the game’s technology was built by a reliable tech team. This technological support has enabled Game Sawit to emerge as a modern digital learning tool that aligns with the learning styles of today's youth.

The main objective of Game Sawit is to educate and raise awareness among younger generations about the importance of sustainable palm oil practices and to encourage them to care more about agricultural and environmental issues.
